Webinar: Putting Research into Practice: Giving Youths Real Second Chances

Research has shed light on many specific juvenile justice practices and approaches that give youths the best possible chances to succeed when they leave facilities and residential programs but still as many as seven or eight of every 10 young people leaving fail. Most young people leaving juvenile justice care return to face the very barriers, challenges, discrimination and disadvantages that likely led to their system involvement in the first place.

In addition to understanding how juvenile justice agencies can implement research-based practices to prepare youths for reentry, this webinar, featuring Kim Godfrey Lovett, Executive Director of the PbS (Performance-based Standards) Learning Institute and president of the PbS Education and Employment Foundation, discusses the need to additionally understand youths’ perceptions about reentry and other findings of the Juvenile Reentry Measurement Standards project.
