Making Reentry Work in Tribal Communities

The health, wellness, and safety of Native people and Tribal communities are severely impacted by the disproportionate rates of imprisonment and recidivism in the United States.

This session focuses on effective reentry strategies in Tribal communities, shares a multitude of effective resources, and highlights guidance from the Bureau of Justice Assistance’s Planning a Reentry Program: A Toolkit for Tribal Communities released in October 2021. The discussion also focuses on the importance of Tribal-State partnerships in reducing incarceration and recidivism and methods.
