Justice Briefing Live: Reducing Structural Barriers to School and Work for People with Juvenile Records

The Council of State Governments Justice Center conducted a first of its kind analysis of these collateral consequences in 12 states and found vague and inconsistent state policies limit education, credentialing, and employment opportunities for people with juvenile records and put them at greater risk of recidivism.

To introduce the study and accompanying report, Reducing Structural Barriers to School and Work for People with Juvenile Records, The CSG Justice Center hosted a discussion exploring these education- and employment-related collateral consequences and what concrete steps state leaders and other stakeholders can take to reduce restrictions to school and work for people with juvenile records.

The event was facilitated by The CSG Justice Center's Deputy Director of the Corrections and Reentry Division, Josh Weber, and featured panelists:
