A communications strategy is key to sustainability, as it helps reentry programs tell the story of how clients are served and affected. An effective communications plan should consider the following questions:
- Who is the audience? Will the communications plan target funders, policy makers, community partners, program participants?
- What is the best format? Will the information about the reentry program be communicated as an elevator pitch, one-page flyer, brief report?
- What is the timing & frequency? When will the target audience be informed? How often?
- What is the platform? How will information about the reentry program be shared (e.g., websites, social media, email)?
