FY 2021 Continuum of Care Supplemental to Address Unsheltered and Rural Homelessness

The purpose of this Continuum of Care Program through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is to target efforts to reduce unsheltered homelessness, particularly in communities with very high levels of unsheltered homelessness and homelessness in rural areas.
The program is designed to:
- Promote a community-wide commitment to the goal of ending homelessness
- Provide funding for efforts by nonprofit providers, states, and local governments to quickly rehouse homeless individuals, families, persons fleeing or attempting to flee domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking, and youth while minimizing the trauma and dislocation caused by homelessness
- Promote access to and effective utilization of mainstream programs by individuals and families experiencing homelessness
- Optimize self-sufficiency among those experiencing homelessness
