April 21, 2023
In this webinar, representatives from the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and the Corrections and Community Engagement Technical Assistance Center (CCETAC) review BJA's FY 2023 Second Chance Act Smart Reentry: Expanding Jail Programs and Services solicitation.
Through this opportunity, BJA seeks applications for funding to state, local, and tribal governments to enhance or implement evidence-based activities or services to improve reentry, reduce recidivism, and address the treatment and recovery needs of people who are currently or formerly involved in the criminal justice system.
The webinar covers the purpose of the Second Chance Act and Community based Reentry grant funding, who is eligible to apply, mandatory goals, objectives, and deliverables, and an explanation of the grant cycle including the amount of the award and period of performance. Additionally information is shared pertaining to use of funds, unallowable use of funds, BJA priorities, data collection, evaluation components, budget guidance, the two-step application process, required application elements, selection criteria, and recommended resources that may be helpful as you write your proposal.
