Compilation of Federal Collateral Consequences

Compilation of federal collateral consequencesThe Collateral Consequences Resource Center recently launched the Compilation of Federal Collateral Consequences, an online database that maps out restrictions and disqualifications imposed by federal statutes and regulations based on a person’s criminal record. Examples of collateral consequences include legal bars to employment, licensing, housing, and education; limitations on voting and other civil rights; registration and residency restrictions; and ineligibility for government benefits and opportunities. Also included in the database are background check requirements, and relief provisions such as judicial expungement and certificates of good conduct.
