This resource is part of The Federal Interagency Reentry Council's A Record of Progress and a Roadmap for the Future.
The purpose of this Federal Interagency Working Group for Children of Incarcerated Parents toolkit is to help facilitate communication and cooperation between child welfare agencies and federal prisons so that parents can stay engaged in their children’s lives.
The toolkit contains frequently asked questions (FAQs) for social workers, unit teams and residential reentry centers (RRCs); a glossary of commonly-used terms; a child welfare myth buster; incarceration and child welfare timelines; state child welfare agency contact information; and additional resources.
