This video introduces the recent Corrections and Community Engagement Technical Assistance Center (CCETAC) publication, "Reentry Through the Lens of the Returning Individual," which shares personal experiences and insights from returning individuals about their transition related to community reintegration, securing housing, mental health services, substance use disorder treatment, employment, healthcare, family reunification support.

In the video, John Bae, a Second Chance Visiting Fellow with the Bureau of Justice Assistance, provides perspective on the value of engaging returning individuals as decision-makers in reentry programs. Lester Young and Venus Woods, two JustLeadershipUSA Navigators who have lived experience, and Teresa Nord, Kyle Daniel-Bey, and Kurt Danysh, three individuals with justice involvement who participated in the focus groups, provide their perspectives that support and reflect key points in the publication.
